Five Children of Farmers to Study at UDEP Thanks to the SINERSA Scholarship Program

Piura – Five young people from Piura, children of farmers from the Chira, Sechura, and Middle and Lower Piura irrigation districts, were selected as recipients of the SINERSA 2026 Scholarship Program, thanks to the existing agreement between Sindicato Energético S.A. (SINERSA) and the University of Piura (UDEP).

The new scholarship recipients are Ruben Yael Ramos Huertas, Gianluiggi José Flores Silva, Angie Celeste Morales Zeta, Ana Lilia Chulle Dedios, and Dayanira Mayte Villegas More, who will study Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Architecture, Secondary Education (History and Social Sciences), Business Administration and International Business, and Business Administration, respectively. The scholarship program, launched by SINERSA in 2004, aims to promote higher education for the children of farmers and contribute to the development of young talent in the Piura region. The call for applications is held annually through the Water Users’ Associations of the Chira, Sechura, and Middle and Lower Piura Irrigation Districts, with the goal of ensuring equal opportunities for young people from rural areas.

“At SINERSA, we reaffirm our commitment to clean energy and to the education of new generations. Investing in education is investing in the sustainable development of our region,” stated SINERSA’s General Manager, Engineer Branislav Zdravkovic.

Throughout its history, the SINERSA Scholarship Program has enabled dozens of young people from agricultural backgrounds to access university studies at UDEP, establishing itself as a flagship corporate social responsibility initiative in northern Peru. With this new class of scholarship recipients in 2026, SINERSA continues to promote educational and human progress in the communities linked to its operations at the Poechos and Curumuy hydroelectric plants.
